Wendelin Haseleu Obituary

Wendelin Sue Haseleu, affectionately known as “Wendy” to those who knew her, passed away suddenly on March 2, 2024, at the age of 56. She was born on July 6, 1967 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the loving daughter of David (Sr.) and Judith Haseleu (Pfender). Survived by her mother, Judith Haseleu; siblings, David Jr., Judy,  Paula and Wayne; and numerous nieces, nephews, dearest friend, Nancy McCartney, and extended family. Preceded in death by her father, David Haseleu, Sr.

Wendy attended the Keystone Oaks School District while growing up in Dormont, Pennsylvania. She attended Pitt University for several years in pursuit of a degree in Social Work. She worked for many years at UPS and spent many hours volunteering for Animal Friends and other organizations.  She played on school basketball teams and enjoyed running in her younger years. She was always making friends, many of whom she remained close with into her adult life. Her childhood years were full of neighborhood shenanigans with friends and siblings, animals galore and lots of laughter, with a fair amount of mischief.

Wendy was a bright light who loved to be with her family and friends. She enjoyed telling stories of good times with those she loved and attending every family gathering possible. Her friends come from all walks of life; she never met a stranger.  Wendy was passionate about her church life, over the years attending Pittsburgh Christian Fellowship and Zion Christian Church, as well as several others. She was deeply involved in church work and ministry, always passionate about the Lord and making sure everybody knew they were loved by Jesus. When the church doors were open, Wendy was inside ready to greet you with a hug. Wendy loved animals, all kinds. She was never without a pet, often rescuing the wayward stray to find them a home. She loved her dogs, Buffy, Angel and Jessie over the years just to name a few, and currently had Precious, her kitty, to keep her company.

To meet Wendy was to love her. She had a warm energy and infectious zest for life. She had her struggles but met them head on with a good attitude and a smile, rarely complaining. She lived life to the fullest in her own unapologetic style. Wendy made sure all those around her knew they were loved by God. She found comfort in her faith and she’s at home with her Savior. She will be deeply missed this side of Heaven by all that knew her.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 11 am to 2 pm at Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, located at 941 McCoy Road, McKees Rocks, PA, 15136. A service to honor her life will be held immediately following at the same location.
