Virginia F Johnson

Daughter of the late George and Eloise Reiss, passed away in her home on the evening of Friday, November 23, 2018. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice McRoberts; and niece, Kate Connally. Virginia was a member of the Plum Creek Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir for over 50 years. She performed with the Pittsburgh Savoyards and sang in numerous productions at Sherwood Forest Theatre. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at McKees Rocks High School. She went on to graduate Summa cum Laude at the University of Pittsburgh where she later earned a Master’s degree. She worked in educational research at American Institutes of Research Oakland and eventually retired from Applied Science Associates in Valencia as a Senior Research Scientist. She is survived by four children, Bruce R. Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA; Karen B. Hershberger of Mentor, OH; Melissa D. Johnson of Pittsburgh; Mark A. Johnson of Woodbridge, VA; her niece, Carolyn (Jean) Connally of Hamilton, MT; her nephew, Malcom McRoberts of Satellite Beach, FL; six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
