Shirley Diecks, 92, of Kennedy Township, PA, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024.  Born on June 26, 1932, in Pittsburgh, she was the beloved wife of the late Ernie “Red” Diecks, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and memories.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many.  She was the proud mother of Ernest (Judi) Diecks, James (Barbara) Diecks, Jane (Joe Tedesco), Thomas (Betty) Diecks and Robert (Terrie) Diecks.  She was preceded in death by her children, David Diecks and Ruth Drexler and her grandson, Thomas Diecks, Jr.

Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Ernie (Nicole) Diecks, Ben (Danielle) Diecks, Adam (Kate) Diecks, James (Christine) Diecks, Nicole (Alex) Ramos, Hannah (Dale) Rebetta, Toni (Dave) Paulson, Rebecca (John) Anderson, Katie (Phil) Diemert, Lindley Diecks, Olivia Diecks, Robert “RJ” (Lindsey) Diecks and Emily (Keara) Lydon.

Shirley was also the loving sister of Barbara Gilchrist, Donna Filipovitz and Annette Zoiti.

Shirley was well-known for her famous nut rolls, a tradition she perfected during the holiday season.  Her warm, homemade bake goods were a symbol of her love and care for her family and they will be missed by all who were lucky enough to enjoy them.

She had an “open door policy” and welcomed everyone into her home with a smile, a warm hug, a delicious pastry and a cup of coffee.  Shirley’s hospitality, generosity and warmth made her a beloved figure to all who knew her.

She was known for her deep faith and love of family, her kindness and her unwavering devotion.  As a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating memories that will last a lifetime.  She was also a devoted friend, always ready to offer a listening ear or a helping hand.
