Russell W. York Sr. 

Age 92, of Mt. Lebanon passed away peacefully on Monday morning, June 21, 2021.  Beloved son of the late Wasyl and Mary (Darkoch) Yanicki. Proud father of Russ (Ashley Resko) and Rob (Kamryn) York.  Proud grandfather of 6, Landon, Abigael, Dane, Hannah, Brooks, and Eden York.  Also survived by his sister Dorothy Price and other family members.

The family would like to thank the nurses, aides, social workers, and staff at the Paramount Senior Living in Bethel Park and Paramount Hospice Care for the care they provided to their father for the past several months.

Russell was among the first in his family to attend and graduate from college (University of Pittsburgh, Class of ‘57).  He was an active member of the Pittsburgh Shriners (32nd degree Mason), Pittsburgh Area Ski Club, and several Pittsburgh Dance clubs.  Russell worked for The Buncher Company for 29 years before retiring in 2011. The only thing he enjoyed more than dancing was spending time with his friends and family.   If you met Russell, he likely offered you his business card, a York Peppermint Patty, and shared a story with you from his past. 

Family and Friends are welcome for visitation at the Kennedy Township location of the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, Inc. 941 McCoy Road McKees Rocks, PA 15136 on Wednesday June 30, 2021 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8  pm. Interment will be private. Everyone is welcome to attend a  memorial service on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11:45 am at Bethel Presbyterian Church 2999 Bethel Church Road Bethel Park, PA 15102 In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bethel Presbyterian Church (mail checks to Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2999 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park, PA  15102).
