Rocco John “Rocky” Mollica November 26, 1953 – October 10, 2024 Rocco John “Rocky” Mollica passed away peacefully at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh on October 10th, 2024. He is survived by his sisters Dolores Mollica Worsen and Marcy Mollica Riley, and was predeceased by his bother Christopher“Chris” Mollica, and sister Maureen Mollica Filippelli. He is survived by his children, Lawson Mollica, Shannon (Terry) Mollica Papadopoulos, and Abbie Mollica, ex-wives Cheryl Mollica and Deborah Janus, and his longtime girlfriend Debi Pirro. Rocky is survived by many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Rocky, as he was known to friends and family, was born and raised in McKees Rocks, PA, to Dolores Haseleu Mollica and Rocco Paul Mollica. He graduated from Sto-Rox High School in 1971. He enjoyed long distance running and playing basketball, opting for pickup games and long private runs over organized competition. After high school Rocky worked as a clerk at the railroad before transitioning to a custodian for the Montour School District, a position he held for 30 years. Rocky was very close with his family and his deceased brother Chris, and he kept in touch with his children, often bragging about them and his grandchildren to anyone who would listen. He looked forward to every family gathering, regardless of the occasion. Rocky was loved dearly by his family, and he drew strength and support from their love. Rocky had a big, beautiful heart. He loved deeply and wholly, to the very best of his ability. He will be sorely missed by his family and close friends. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 at 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home on 941 McCoy Road, Kennedy Township, PA 15136. A funeral service will be celebrated at 6:00 pm in the Musmanno Chapel.
