Age 82, of Kennedy Township passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Dear Husband of the late Rose (DeFebbo) Ellek who he happily rejoins. Loving father of Lisa (Brent) Prough and Robert (Lisa) Ellek. Proud grandfather of Chelsea Prough and Nicholas and Logan Ellek. Beloved big brother and fishing partner of Rege (Mavis) Ellek and special uncle to Jennifer McMurtrie. He was a devoted son to his deceased parents Paul and Genevieve (Lisko) Ellek. Bob was proud of having served in the US Army and relished his trip to Germany in 2019 when he revisited his former radio relay site. He was a longtime parishioner of Archangel Gabriel Parish, St Malachy Church in Kennedy Township. All children think their dad is the smartest, strongest, bravest father in the world. We KNOW our dad was. He passed on to us strong work ethics, a penchant for sleeping on the couch, love of music from the 8-track tape era, and attention to detail (especially with his green lawn). He will be missed by numerous friends and relatives who appreciated his kindness, selflessness and willingness to help. He’s already missed by his doted upon best catching buddy, Sheena. Our hearts are so heavy but he lived his life fully and left on his own terms. Family and Friends are welcome for visitation on Wednesday, June 02, 2021 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Kennedy Township location of the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, Inc. 941 McCoy Road McKees Rocks, PA (Kennedy Twp.) 15136 Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10:30am in Archangel Gabriel Parish, St. Malachy Church. Burial will follow with military honors at St. Mark’s cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Animal Rescue 6926 Hamilton Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15208 or to a charity of one’s choice.
