Raymond Young Obituary

Raymond Anthony (Tony) Young, 57, of Titusville, Florida ended his earthly life and journeyed to meet his
Lord and Savior on January 31, 2024 at the Donnell House in Washington PA after a long illness.
Tony was born in Springville, New York on August 20, 1966. He was the youngest son of Regina Young
Schohn (nee Sixt) and Paul C. Young. He moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida with his family in 1981 and
absolutely loved living the Florida lifestyle until he recently returned to Pennsylvania to be with his family for
his final care. He joined the U.S. Army in 1984 and served two tours of duty, leaving with two Honorable
Discharges by 1992. Tony was very proud of his service to his country, as an MP and NATO Special Forces.
When his family moved back to Pennsylvania, he remained in Florida. He loved the warmer weather and
sunshine. Tony was an expert sky-diver and instructor with over 1200 hours of “free fall” as well as a Master
SCUBA diver. He was a commercial fisherman and later a construction contractor and subcontractor. In his
later years, he and his “mature” team jokingly called themselves “Geritol Drywall!”
He was an avid hunter as well as fisherman. Tony loved to teach others! He took great pleasure in conducting a
firearms class for the local youth in Titusville and the Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society from California
University of PA.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Dana Young (Justin Armacost) and grandchildren Liam and Luna; mother,
Regina Schohn and father, Paul C. Young (Patricia McKeown); sisters, Dorothy Kelly and Carol Bocetti (Dean);
brother, John C. Young (Tammy); Auntie Jonna and Uncle John Murphy; as well as many cousins, nieces and
nephews. He is also survived by his ex-wives, Jill Kershaw (Jim) and Mary Alexandra Shane.
Tony was preceded in death by his “dad,” Richard Schohn and his brother-in-law, Owen Kelly.
Even though Tony lived far away he knew how much he was loved, and we knew how much he loved his
family.
There will be no visitation, because Tony, with his charitable nature, donated his body to medical science
through the PA Humanity Gifts Registry. Musmanno Funeral Home provides an on-line memorial message
service on behalf of the Registry. There will be a Memorial Mass on February 10, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Oscar
Romero Parish, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal RC Church, 300 Pike Street, Meadow Lands, PA, 15347
