Paul Schoenberger (77) died Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at his home. Born May 24, 1943 to the late John and Angella Schoenberger, Paul was a long time resident of the Point Breeze neighborhood where he was often referred to as “The Mayor of Lloyd Street”. A graduate from the Academy of the New Church in Bryn Athyn and a veteran of the U.S. Army, Paul loved helping people, especially with handy work. His infectious personality was larger than life and he will be missed by his family, friends and neighbors. He is survived by his two sons, Carl (Sarah) of Elmhurst, Il and Jonathan (Alexis) of Pittsburgh; three grand-daughters, Olivia, Emilia and Hadley; and four sisters, Gretchen (Harold) Sandstrom of Connecticut, Cora (Marshall) Edgell of North Carolina, Elsa (Lee) Moorehead and Margit (Steve) Irwin of Bryn Athyn, PA. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two infant siblings, Peter and Anna-Marie and his faithful dog, Caleb. There is no visitation or memorial service planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh in Paul’s name.
