Age 89, Margaret (Peggy) Donovan Palmer of Whitehall passed from this world into the next on June 3, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her father Dennis M. Donovan, mother Margaret Agatha Donovan, brother Robert B. Donovan, and her beloved husband J. Kenneth (Kenny) Palmer.
She is survived by her sons Daniel R. Palmer (Judi) and Thomas D. Palmer (Teri), her daughters Colleen Pook (late Henry), and Mary Lou Eshel (Amir), as well as nieces Kathleen A. Donovan (David), Karen S.E. Donovan, Patricia D. Fernans (David), Anita L. Donovan, Diane M. Donovan, and nephew Robert M. Donovan, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 4 great nieces/nephews, 7 great-great nieces/nephews and her beloved friends and neighbors in Whitehall.
Peggy was born and raised in Baldwin Borough, but spent her later years in Whitehall, where she became the Mother/Grandmother to the neighborhood families and dogs, and she founded the “Molly Share-a-Dog Program”. She worked for the B&O Railroad, the Baldwin Whitehall School District and later for Kaufmann’s Dept. store.
She eventually retired to care for her mother, and later her dear husband Ken, who was truly her soulmate. She is dancing with him now!
Peggy has donated her body to science via the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center through the Humanity Gifts Registry Organization. Therefore, her life celebration will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or St. Paul’s Monastery.
