Margaret Diane (Ruppel) Baer

Margaret Diane (Ruppel) Baer, age 89 born August 15, 1932, died December 18th, 2021.  She was born in New Kensington, Pa and her parents were Peg and Herman Ruppel, both deceased.  Her husband Robert Baer to whom she was married 48 years now deceased.  She is survived by son, Gary (Sue) from Apollo and daughter, Suzanne (Bob) from Oakland, Maryland.  There are three grandchildren, Laura(Jed), Bobby (Becky) and Karen (Andy).  She also had six great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister, Linda K. Smith.
Diane graduated from Elders Ridge High School in 1950, attended Thiel College 1950 to 1952, US Army 1952 to 1954, worked at Wear Ever, Alcoa 1954 to 1956; married 1956 to husband Bob who was career military, so she served with him from 1956 to 1979 in many places.  She did many volunteer jobs as a USAF military wife.
Diane worked at KIstaco Farm Market 1979 to 1998 and held many offices in the Volunteer jobs in church (member of Spring Church Lutheran Church), Scouts, American Legion, American Legion Aux, Apollo Senior Center, MOW, CWU.  She enjoyed playing cards, mowing grass and watching wildlife on her 10 acre farm.
Memorials can be sent to SCLC or Apollo Senior Center.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021 12:00 pm at the Spring Church Evangelical Lutheran Church 3623 Lutheral Church Rd, Apollo, PA 15613.
