Janet Louise (Myers) Thomas
February 8, 1940 – September 13, 2026
Janet Louise Myers Thomas, born February 8, 1940, in New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Janet lived most of her adult life in Kennedy Township, Pennsylvania, where she built a life filled with family, friendships, laughter, and many wonderful memories. She took pride in making Kennedy Township a better place. She organized Toys For Tots, Memorial Day parades, Residents Emergency Program, Banners for Veterans and many activities for the community. She dedicated 42 years of her life as a Kennedy Township Police Dispatcher, a career that reflected her strength, dedication, and commitment. However, she would always say that her most favorite job was being our mom. Janet was very creative and found great joy in making things beautiful. She put thought and love into every detail, making ordinary celebrations feel special. She also loved karaoke and the fun, laughter, and music that came with it. Janet was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren brought her great joy and held a very special place in her heart. Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harmon; her son, Scott Thomas; her father, John Myers; her mom and stepfather; Carl and Margaret Wetherington; her brothers, Robert Myers and Walter “Red” Myers; and her sister, Peggy Ballentine. She is survived by her three daughters, Dawn Hoge (Hendley), Kelly Delmonico (Anthony), and Suzanne Maffei (Kurt); her 10 grandchildren, Tyler (Lauren), Jessica (Matt), Rachael (Jordan), Adam (Gabrielle), Matthew, Kevin (Christie), Michael (Sarah), Meghan (Will), Jared (Gabby), and Jonathan; and her 9 great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandchild lovingly anticipated any day now. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Saturday, October 03, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, Inc. 941 McCoy Road McKees Rocks, (Kennedy Township) PA 15136. A Funeral Service will be celebrated a 4:00 pm in the Musmanno Chapel. Burial will be private.
