Genevieve Lauria, 77, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully with family by her side on the morning of Thursday, October 3rd. Genevieve, affectionately known as Gen, lived her life with kindness and grace all the while showering love on her husband, grandchildren and the family around her. She spent 57 wonderful years by the side of her husband Jim. They raised their daughter Annie (Danny) who blessed Jim and Gen with 3 grandsons, Jackson, Marcus and Colton, who she cherished and loved beyond words. The memories that “Mae” made with her boys will be held closely to their hearts throughout their lives.
Gen was the fifth child of the late Steve and Anna Cokus of Preston, PA, and was preceded in death by her brother Tommy. She is survived by her brother Michael, sister Gerri, sister Theresa (Rick) and her sister Maryann (Zan). She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Gen spent most of her life doing things that she loved with family and friends, such as relaxing with friends at her house for dinner, spending summers at Geneva on the Lake, OH in her beloved cabin and taking care of people and animals in need around her. In her last few years of life, Gen showed her strength by battling health concerns over and over to have more time with her family. She is a proven warrior and will forever be remembered for her sarcastic, but comical words, her love of entertaining at her house, her Batman and Robin playtime with her grandkids and her kind, thoughtful heart.
