Obituary: Dorothy “Dolly” E. (Rotondi) Cillo
“My God will fully supply whatever you need in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19) describes the full life of Dorothy “Dolly” Cillo. Dolly, originally from Williamsport, PA knew and embraced the riches of Christ’s supply each day of her life. The daughter of Phillip and Rose Rotondi, Dolly, the youngest of four children, though petite in stature, lived a tall life rich in grace for 93 years. She knew the origins of her sustenance trusting always in the God who provides. The God who provided her with a beautiful marriage to her late husband, Anthony Cillo, and three children whom she embraced as personal blessings from her God who supplies, Philip (Monica) Cillo, the late Revered Father David M. Cillo, and Mary Ann (Deacon Joseph) Compomizzi, all who dedicated their lives in service to others. A talented Italian cook and baker, Dolly shared the riches of these gifts with family, neighbors and friends as her specialties of zucchini fritters, Easter pies, pecan tassies, bundt cakes, pasta, meatballs, stuffed artichokes and so many more delectables even to the tasting pleasure of Pittsburgh Pirate Bill Mazerowski who dined at the supply of her table. As a hairdresser, she again shared what her Lord had given her, making women’s lives more beautiful. Most of all, Dolly cherished her time just being with people especially her grandson, Immanuel Antonio Compomizzi, providing him with cooking lessons, poker lessons, baking lessons, and the most important lessons of faith and family. On Saturday, October 14th, Jesus one last time in this earthy life supplied and called Dolly home peacefully. Dolly was preceded in death by her siblings Anthony Rotondi, Theresa Dingler and Mary Pagnotto who welcome her now to glory. She will be missed by so many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends and particularly Biagio Shipman for whom she became lovingly, “Grandma-D”. Visitation is Wednesday, October 18th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret of Scotland Church (Greentree) with a funeral liturgy immediately following. Family and friends wishing to attend the luncheon reception are asked to reply by Tuesday, October 17th to the Google RSVP Form: https://forms.gle/KHG19dTagGES1tiS8.
