Dolores B. Patterson

December 17, 1928 – November 24, 2023, A.D.

Beloved wife of the late John W. Patterson Jr, magazine editor of the former Pittsburgh Press. Loving mother of Cynthia Patterson LaPietra (Gary), John W. Patterson III (Carol), and Christopher Michele Patterson (Leigh).

Her greatest accomplishment in life was her three children, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren and is survived by all. Dolores was an excellent hostess and cook.

She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Mt. Aloysius College. 

A special fondness for Mercy Hospital led to her volunteering there as well as the former Crittendon Home in Shadyside. She assisted in producing a closed-circuit television program for Allegheny County’s Agency on Aging.

She was elected to the Churchill Area School Board and the Forest Hills Boro Council. She was a member of St. John Fisher Church, including service in the Ladies of Charity, visiting parishioners in nursing homes.

Dolores appreciated the fellowship of Christ and his people from all branches of Christianity.

Memorial service will be conducted on Saturday December 2 at 10 am, St. Alban’s Anglican Church, 4920 Cline Hollow Rd, Murrysville PA 15668.
