Brad McGowan Obituary

Brad “Pooky” McGowan, born February 11, 1976, passed away on September 14, 2026, surrounded
by the love of his family.  Pooky was the son of the late Jack McGowan, Patricia Pecman, and Frank Pecman. In addition to his parents, Pooky leaves behind his parents-in-law, Dean Sr. and Peggy Shazer.  Pooky leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Stacey McGowan; his sons, Dennis McGowan and Zach McGowan (Gia); his daughter-in-law, Marisa McGowan; and his beloved grandchildren, Quinn, Xander, and Shae McGowan.  He also leaves behind his sister, Jill Camardese, and brother, John McGowan, and their families, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
To his family, Pooky was much more than the roles he held. He was a husband, a dad, a son, a
brother, an uncle, and a Pap—someone whose presence became part of the fabric of their lives. The
lessons he taught, the laughs they shared, the stories they told, and the memories they made together
will continue to live on through everyone who loved him.
Pooky was the kind of person who left an impression simply by being himself. Those who knew
him will remember his personality, his sense of humor, the stories and laughter that seemed to
follow him, and the unmistakable way he could make his presence known in a room. He loved
deeply, cared fiercely for the people who mattered most to him, and treasured the time spent
surrounded by family and friends.
Becoming “Pappy” brought a special joy to his life, and the love he had for Quinn, Xander, and
Shae was immeasurable. They will grow up knowing just how deeply their Pappy loved them and
hearing the stories that made him so unforgettable.
The McGowan family would also like to extend a special thank you and their most sincere love and
appreciation to the Dzurenda family, Gubba family, Sciulli family, Chambers family, Divito family,
and Stayduhar family. Your friendship, love, support, and presence have meant more to Pooky and
his family than words can adequately express.
Pooky’s greatest legacy will always be the family he loved. Though his passing leaves an emptiness
that can never truly be filled, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the impact he made will remain with his family and friends forever.
Rest easy, Pooky. Your memory and your love will forever live on through all of us.

**Family and Friends will gather for a Celebration of Life to honor Pooky and the many memories shared with him**
