Barry Brandon Duerr, age 67 of McKees Rocks, Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 12th, 2026 after a battle with cancer. Barry was born on March 22, 1959 to Howard and Eleanor Duerr. He is preceded in death by his older sister Mariann Duerr. After graduating from Sto-Rox High School, Barry attended Allegheny College and played collegiate baseball all four years. Afterwards, he pursued a career in education and admissions, eventually going on to work as a Director of Visitor Engagement at the University of Pittsburgh. He worked and was beloved there for 30 years. Barry will be remembered for his effortless ability to connect to people and the love he displayed for life on a constant basis. Barry had a love for sports, especially baseball and the Pirates, attending hundreds of games over the course of his life. Barry also loved the hard rock n roll era of music, and his favorite band was AC/DC. Every time you hear AC/DC’s You Shook Me All Night Long, think of Barry. He will be forever remembered as a positive light on everyone he’s ever met. He is survived by his family, who are the most important thing in the world to him, his wife Lisa and his children Brandon (Kate), Emily (Cody), and Nicholas (Sara), his brother Howard Duerr Jr (Sharyn), and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, Inc. 941 McCoy Road McKees Rocks, (Kennedy Township) PA 15136. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 am in Archangel Gabriel Parish, the Church at St. Marys. Burial will be private.
