Anthony Joseph Talarek, age 85, of Whitehall passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 7, 1940, Anthony spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved.
Anthony was the devoted husband of Mary Anne (Lacey) Talarek, with whom he shared 62 years of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Their marriage was a true testament to commitment and companionship, built on mutual respect, deep affection, and a shared devotion to family.
Together, they raised three children: Jill Dowker, Ted Talarek, and Clay Talarek. They are proud grandparents to four amazing grandchildren: Luke Dowker, Justin Talarek, Emma Dowker and Megan Talarek. Anthony was a loving father and grandfather whose quiet strength and steady presence shaped the lives of those closest to him.
Anthony was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Talarek and Ted Talarek, and is survived by his sister, Regina Blickhahn.
Known for his integrity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to family, Anthony lived a life of purpose and humility. In keeping with his generous spirit and commitment to helping others, he chose to donate his body to medical research at the University of Pittsburgh through the Humanity Gifts Registry.
Friends and family will gather at a later date for a celebration of life to honor Anthony’s memory. Details will be shared privately.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
