Anthony (Tony / Sonny) Schaukowitch, age 74 of Jupiter, FL formerly of McKees Rocks, PA was called home to the Lord on March 16, 2024, after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was born on July 20, 1949 and was the son of the late Anton and Mary (Martonik) Schaukowitch. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Schaukowitch, and three brothers-in-law, Reno DeSalle, Bernard (Bernie) Koch and Anthony (Tony) DeSalle.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Darlene (DeSalle) Schaukowitch; and four sisters-in-law: Carol Koch Sikorski (Tony), Nancy (Klucick) DeSalle (the late Reno), Rosanna (Pitassi) DeSalle (the late Anthony), and Helen VanPelt (the late Carl Schaukowitch); seven nephews, two nieces, three great nephews and seven great nieces.
Anthony graduated from Gannon University with a Bachelor's Degree where he pledged the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.
He made a successful career in the computer world working at The University of Pittsburgh, Mobay, Fisher Scientific as Director IT Operations & Technical support and retiring as the MIS Director for the City of Miramar, Florida.
In his younger years, he made lifelong “brother” friends that he enjoyed throughout his life. He looked forward to his annual fishing trip to Canada with his Uncle, brother and good friends.
He enjoyed golfing with family and friends, especially the “19th” hole. Throughout his golfing years he accomplished “four” hole-in-ones that he humbly kept to himself.
He played basketball and enjoyed watching college basketball. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as Penn State where his brother played football.
His love for his Delta Sig brotherhood never wavered throughout the years. He held each brother in his heart and told many, (almost unbelievable) and fun stories.
He was the love of my life and is in my heart for eternity. He took care of me, our dogs, and lived up to my occasional nickname for him, "Head of Household"!
