Age 87 of Sewickley, PA, passed away on February 7, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Susan; three sons, David (Cheryl), William (Kate), and Timothy (Connie); and four grandchildren, Sydney, Kyle, Nicholas, and Aidan. Herbert was born in Detroit, MI, on April 8, 1930. At the age of seven, he moved to Pittsburgh, PA. Herbert graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1952, served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier, Saipan, and subsequently received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. Following residency in clinical and anatomical pathology, he served as director of the laboratory at Passavant Hospital for many years and Secretary of the Allegheny County Pathology Society before retiring in 1994. In his retirement, he enjoyed reading, walking his Dobermans, and bird watching.
