Anita Marie (Santilli) Pendel at age 92, passed away on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, with all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren by her side. Celebrating the life of Anita with all present at her passing was fitting since she was the catalyst for hosting family gatherings for Sunday spaghetti dinners and everything Italian. Her love, laughter, positive demeanor, and storytelling became a tradition she loved and would be proud to be remembered by.
Anita was born on April 7th, 1932. Anita is survived by her three children - daughter Lynne (Pendel) Jones - husband Don Jones – their daughter Chrystie -husband Bill Grant – their children Leah and Andrew –their daughter Dayna and her husband Brian Gulish – their children Bennett and Ryan. Son John Pendel - his wife Denise - their daughter Antonia - husband Chris Eisenhuth - their daughters Harper and Sienna – their son John. Son Michael Pendel - children Michael and Madison – their mother Susan Pendel. Anita is also survived by brother Anthony Santilli and numerous nieces and nephews. Anita is preceded in death by her late husband John Andrew Pendel and Sisters – Frances Shazer – Rosemary Mamros – Joanne Heinlein.
Anita devoted her entire life to her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her most joy. She valued time with her friends and frequented church events, especially the “Pizza Kitchen”, as she loved her devout faith. Anita always found ways to give back. She was devoted to volunteering at the hospital, giving out greetings, directions and smiles. She was always so proud or her Italian heritage and if you wanted a recipe, she could recite anyone of them by heart.
Family and Friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, 941 McCoy Road, Kennedy Township, PA 15136. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:00 am at Archangel Gabriel Parish, St. Malachy Church. Burial will follow at St. Mark’s Cemetery.
