Thomasina (Tommie) (Artuso) Consentino

Age 97, of McKees Rocks, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Country Meadows Retirement Community in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. Tommie was born February 15, 1921, in San Donato, Italy the daughter of Antonio and Elena Rose Artuso. At age 6, she traveled from Italy to the United States by boat where she and her family took permanent residence, settling in McKees Rocks, PA. She spent her entire life in "The Rocks" where she raised her own family and worked as a hairdresser from the front of her home that was converted into a beauty parlor for seven decades. Tommie was a devoted mother, admiring wife, and a loyal friend to all who knew her. She loved music, dancing, socializing with friends and spending time with her family. Tommie was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel Cosentino and her son, Anthony W. Cosentino. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Cosentino; sister, Elvera Zitelli; grandson, Anthony G. Cosentino and daughter- in-law, Elizabeth Cosentino. Her family is grateful for the loving support of her caretaker, Dee and the compassionate care she received from the entire staff at Country Meadows in her final years. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at ANTHONY M. MUSMANNO FUNERAL HOME, INC., 700 7th Street, McKees Rocks, PA 15136. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. Saint John of God Parish, the church at St. Mary's, 1011 Church Avenue, McKees Rocks, PA 15136. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Tommie's honor to the Fred Rodgers Company at 2100 Wharton Street, Suite 700, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
