Robert George Newton passed away on May 26 in Grove City, PA. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on Dec.10, 1917. As a result of his degree from his revered college - W.P.I., he became a successful Professional Engineer. His career was centered in the nuclear field, and primarily for Westinghouse. He was involved in community and church activities throughout many decades. His interests were wide and varied, and he reveled in all forms of learning all of his life. He had a joke and a kind word for everyone he met. He was a true gentleman.
Bob’s beloved wife, Janet, pre-deceased him in 2010. Surviving to remember his joyful loving spirit are his five children: Barbara (Edward) Reed, Elizabeth (Roger) Rathmell, Anne (Milton) Shaley, Margaret (Michael) Moore, and Robert, Jr., nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five nephews, and their families.
Because his remains have been donated to medical research, a memorial service will be held later at the discretion of the family.
